Aretha Franklin Battling Pancreatic Cancer (Report)

Yesterday Aretha Franklin’s family confirmed the singer is battling cancer but did not specify the type. Now an “unnamed relative” reportedly has told a Detroit radio station that those close to Aretha are “very concerned.”
The ‘Respect’ singer – who recently underwent “serious” surgery for an undisclosed condition – is said to have been told she has less than a year to live after being diagnosed with the disease, which has a survival rate of just five to 10 per cent.

I hate to hear this! My thoughts are with Aretha and her family. Hopefully they’ll be given the privacy they deserve in this difficult time.

Aretha Franklin Diagnosed With Cancer, Her Family Confirms

Aretha Franklin Diagnosed With Cancer, Her Family Confirms

Aretha Franklin underwent surgery last week, only sharing that it was successful, but not revealing what type of surgery she had. Whispering started about health concerns for the singer, and the National Enquirer reported that she’s suffering from pancreatic cancer. According to PopEater, her family has confirmed that she is battling cancer, but haven’t specified what type.

“God is still in control. I had superb doctors and nurses whom were blessed by all the prayers of the city and the country.”
Aretha’s doctors advised her to cancel all performances and appearances through May.
Our thoughts are with her and her family as she battles this terrible disease.
